Driving through a dark tunnel makes me uneasy. The longer it is, the more I feel suffocated. 

It has been 6 months since the pandemic started. Lockdown, homeschooling, mask, hand-sanitizer have been a daily routine, a new normal. Travel restriction, people losing jobs, companies shutting down, are the grim reality we are facing now. How much we are all longing for all these problems to end. So we don't have to worry about tomorrow. We are hoping the next turn would be the last, and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

  The sun is rising from the horizon. It is another day. Another hope for a better life. The fishermen are out. Rushing to get what they can. So their families would have enough to eat today.  The empty chairs on the beach are waiting for the guests to come down. Not many these days. The maximum number of guests staying in the hotel are still in place.  The wind from the Gulf of Oman sends the waves crashing down the shores. The air is heavy but bearable. In the distance, a guy walking alone along the beach. Just like me, he is trying to find a solitude. Just like me, she is out the morning to find a solitude. A few minutes to herself before the day engulfs her with responsibilities. Patience

My son has been training to play golf for two years and eight months by now and last Monday, he was finally considered ready to play on a "real" course. We were taken to Els Club, which had been hosting some of prestigious international championships.  His coach, Sujjan Singh, an Indian professional golfer, once was ranked 300 in the world, took us on a buggy to explore the whole 18 holes and while driving, he kept on emphasizing how important, especially for kids, to be mentally ready and know how to respect the sports, while at the same time, enjoy the game itself.  The first time to be on the golf course myself, I could not help feeling excited and liberated especially after a few months of Covid related lockdown where the views I had were the walls of my house or my garden.
