Solitude

The sun is rising from the horizon. It is another day. Another hope for a better life. The fishermen are out. Rushing to get what they can. So their families would have enough to eat today.

The empty chairs on the beach are waiting for the guests to come down. Not many these days. The maximum number of guests staying in the hotel are still in place.

The wind from the Gulf of Oman sends the waves crashing down the shores. The air is heavy but bearable. In the distance, a guy walking alone along the beach. Just like me, he is trying to find a solitude. A few minutes in the morning before his whole family wake up, and the day will go by entertaining them.

A woman with a black veil came out from her hotel room. Just like me, she is out the morning to find a solitude. A few minutes to herself before the day engulfs her with responsibilities. Looking out to the ocean, lots of things are going through her mind. 2020 has been a difficult year for everyone. Worrying about the children, a job to hold, what the future will be.

We found a company in solitude. Everyone needs to be alone. Just me and the wind. Just him and the waves. Just her and the horizon. See you at another sunrise tomorrow.
